Having strong self-advocacy skills gives students with disabilities a voice both in and out of the classroom and it is a skill that will serve them well into their future.
This product includes a link to a 45-card deck of Boom Cards hosted on Boom Learning. It is structured in an interactive lesson format that will teach students with disabilities what an Individualized Educational Program is and help give them a voice in their education and IEP. This deck starts with the basics of what an IEP is and what it's for and walks them through each section of their IEP (Present Level, Goals, Accommodations/Modifications, Services, Dates, and Transition).
This deck includes 9 checkpoints cards along the way to check for understanding (drag and drop, true/false, multiple-choice), and each card is self-checking which makes progress-tracking a breeze for teachers. This deck is sure to help students with disabilities have a better understanding of the IEP process and give them a stronger voice in their own educational planning.
